EDUROAM & EUMEDGRID Combined Workshops

The Cyprus Research and Academic Network will host the combined eduroam and EUMEDGrid event in January in Cyprus at the University of Cyprus.
Important update : The EUMEDGRID Workshop has been postponed due to lack of attendance. The eduroam event is unaffected.

The event will take place from January 15th to January 18th 2007 at the Main Auditorium Hall at the University of Cyprus in Nicosia.

eduroam

Following the success of the EuroCAMP (European Campus Architecture Middleware Planning) workshops to promote the use of middleware technologies in the campuses in Europe, TERENA is happy to organise a half-day miniCAMP focused on eduroam.
The roaming infrastructure, known as eduroam, allows users visiting an institution connected to eduroam to log on to the WLAN using the same credentials the users would use if they were at their home institution.
To date more than 30 National Research and Education Networks are connected to eduroam in Europe and beyond.

EUMEDGrid Workshop

The EUMEDGRID initiative aims to set up in the Mediterranean a grid infrastructure for Research, which can become part of EGEE and be integrated with analogous initiatives in the Balkans, North Europe, Latin America and Far-East Asia.

Additionally, EUMEDGRID's purpose is to raise grid awareness and competences among the researchers operating in the Mediterranean area, to make them able to profit of this new powerful tool, to foster collaboration with European and wordlwide projects and to promote scientific and industrial development in the area.
